(PRWEB UK) 6 August 2011
Aberdeen Asset Management Cowes Week is a key part of the British sporting calendar taking place in early August each year. The event is a great mix of competitive sailing and a vibrant social scene and has evolved enormously since the early days; it now attracts up to 1,000 competing boats, around 8,500 competitors and at least 100,000 visitors.
eDigitalResearch will once again be providing the mobile research facilities to help organisers improve the event experience. Both competitors and spectators will be able to offer feedback and suggestions on a daily basis over the week-long event to help make this year’s regatta the most successful yet.
The leading market research specialists will be providing competitors with the chance to have their say on the day’s races for the fourth year running with their sophisticated SMS survey designed specifically to gain immediate feedback. Once across the finish line, competitors will be invited to rate the course raced that day, allowing the organisers to make instant improvements throughout the week.
This year, following the uptake in popularity of smartphones, eDigitalResearch expect an even bigger response from Aberdeen Asset Management Cowes Week competitors. Last year saw a significant leap in the number of people texting through their feedback on the courses – some individual days saw nearly half of competitors texting through their daily evaluations.
Derek Eccleston, research director of eDigitalResearch, explains, “At eDigitalResearch we stress the importance of listening to what customers want and offering them the chance to give their own feedback in their own words. By undertaking SMS mobile surveys, Cowes Week Limited are embracing insight across the board that allows them to continue to improve the event year on year and remain the world’s most popular sailing event. As smartphone ownership figures continue to soar as we witness the MEcommerce revolution – where consumers now have the power to communicate with brands where, when and how they want – we would expect that more and more people will be willing to take part and offer up the direction and insight welcomed in order to take the event forward.”
This year will also see the return of the popular post-event net chats with Cowes Week Limited CEO Stuart Quarrie. The online chats are a chance for competitors to engage in an interactive online discussion and pose questions directly to the organisers. For Cowes Week Limited, it is a chance to get a real understanding of the improvements people want to see, as well as recognise the issues that people feel most passionately about.
Stuart Quarrie, Cowes Week Limited CEO commented, “The feedback we receive is the driving force for everything that we do. Whether feedback is received through the course text survey results, via the post-event full survey, or through the netchats I hold, the opportunity to listen, analyse and, as a result, evolve the event in the ways in which people want is imperative.”
